Continuing Professional Development (CPD) - we offer information, advice and assistance on CPD and assess courses for CPD accreditation.

Journal: Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery British Volume (JBJS Br) – the BOA promotes this official organ of orthopaedic surgery by including it as an entitlement of membership. For further information go to the JBJS website.

Financial Support for Orthopaedic Research and Education - through its Joint Action orthopaedic research appeal.

Manpower Information - BOA runs an annual census and maintains an extensive manpower database to support discussions with the Departments of Health and others on manpower issues. Members may view or download the Census Report which is published annually.

Establishes Committees - to advance the aims of the Association and to respond to issues raised by members.

Maintains Dialogue with national and international bodies responsible for health care; clinical standards; research and education; legal and regulatory issues, and allied matters.

Liaison with Patients - The Patient Liaison Group (PLG) ensures there is good patient involvement in the work of the BOA.

The BOA Portal - in conjunction with the Bone and Joint Decade (BJD) and other international societies for trauma and orthopaedic surgery and for rheumatology, the BOA has developed a musculo-skeletal portal.

Benevolent Fund - through this fund, BOA offers financial assistance to members in need.
