The BOA engages extensively with the Government through meetings with relevant Ministers, Shadow Ministers, Parliamentarians and senior officials. We do this on our own, jointly with others - for example with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Federation of Surgical Specialty Associations, the British Medical Association, the NHS Confederation, Arthritis Care and Arthritis Research UK - and also in concert with the wider musculoskeletal community under the umbrella of ARMA - the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance.
At all times we ensure that our various lines of engagement are complementary - and that all our advocacy endeavour is focused on Caring for Patients and Supporting Surgeons.
