British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS)
The British Elbow and Shoulder Society was founded in the early 1980s as the result of an increased interest in elbow and shoulder surgery in the United Kingdom.
Currently the Society has about 350 members and is still growing rapidly. It has an annual meeting, four travelling fellowships and two research grants. Two sub-committees have been established in research/audit and in education.
