Bootcamp - Cadaveric
The BOA Cadaveric Bootcamp will prepare new trauma and orthopaedic trainees with the necessary knowledge and skills to maximise their operative skills training.
Places are limited to 20 participants on a first come first served basis. There is always a significant demand so apply quickly to avoid disappointment.
The Cadaveric Course is only available for trainees without access to this type of training. Applicants must identify their deanery to confirm their place. Participants should be ST3 at the time of booking the course.
Those applying for any course must have their study leave approved in advance by their TPD. As part of your participation, the BOA will include your named AES in the action planning process and any assessments done during either programme. We hope this will help you access the required ongoing support in your workplace.
The two-day course focuses on cadaveric training on all the common surgical approaches used during trauma surgery with skilled and experienced faculty.
- Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand for trauma
- Hip, knee, fasciotomies, foot and ankle for trauma
- Spanning fixator application principles
Participants are required to make a £250 contribution to meet the costs of the course. The remaining significant cost will be met by Zimmer Biomet. All course materials, tuition, refreshments and VAT are included. Please note the BOA will not cover travel or accommodation costs.
Each participant is responsible for their own accommodation and travel costs.
The course will take place at Newcastle Surgical Training Centre.
