The BOA Human Factors Bootcamp prepares new trauma and orthopaedic trainees with the capabilities to excel during their training.

The course is provided as part of our membership benefits, so all participants must be BOA members at the time of booking. Click here if you wish to become a member.
Participants should be ST3 at the time of booking the course or have been offered an ST3 position.
Those applying for any course must have their study leave approved in advance by their TPD. As part of your participation, the BOA will include your named AES in the action planning process and any assessments done during either programme. We hope this will help you access the required ongoing support in your workplace.
The two-day course focuses on professional capabilities underpinned by an understanding of human factors which will allow the participants to thrive throughout their career. Scenario based learning and formative assessment will be offered by a skilled and enthusiastic faculty.

Participants are required to make a £100 contribution to meet the costs of the course. The remaining significant cost will be met by an educational grant from Zimmer Biomet. All course materials, tuition, refreshments and VAT are included. Please note the BOA will not cover travel or accommodation costs.
Each participant is responsible for their own accommodation and associated costs.
The course will take place at the Hilton Cardiff, which is located in the heart of the City adjacent to Cardiff Castle and the Civic Centre. The hotel is easily accessible by road, rail and air.
