This webinar covered:

  • Update from Professor Chris Moran on next steps of recovery

Professor Chris Moran, a T&O surgeon from Nottingham, is Deputy National Strategic Incident Director for COVID-19 at NHS England. He shares with us his insights into the challenges and opportunities ahead for orthopaedic elective surgery.

•    Growing waiting lists in the COVID-19 pandemic: What do patients want?
Professor Joe Dias, Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospitals of Leicester, shares his experience of surveying patients on the Orthopaedic waiting list to understand how they might require support by hearing their experiences, concerns, and expectations.

•    Helping patients on the Orthopaedic waiting list: Patient group webinars
This part of the session is led by Dr Ursula Montgomery, a GP and Senior Clinical Advisor, Primary Care, NHS England & Improvement, and Dr Rupa Joshi, a GP and PCN clinical director for Wokingham North in Berkshire. It discusses an approach of patient webinars, run in partnership between primary and secondary care, to support groups of patients while they are on the waiting list. We know many services are considering how to incorporate ‘waiting well’ into their pathways, so watch the recorded webinar to find out more.

A Q&A with members of the audience session follows the presentations.
