Rhidian Morgan-Jones
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust
Rhidian has been involved in infection management for over 30 years. After a long career in Cardiff establishing a Revision Knee Practice, he moved to Colchester in 2023 to lead the Major Revision Centre for Knees in the region. He is currently the inaugural BAJIS President.

Abtin Alvand
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC)
Abtin Alvand is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC) in Oxford. He is one of the highest volume revision knee surgeons in England based on the National Joint Registry. He graduated from University of London and completed his higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the Oxford programme. He also completed a PhD (DPhil) at the University of Oxford which was titled “Improving Surgical Learning and Performance at Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty”.
Abtin was appointed as NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford in 2015, and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in 2017. He undertook post-CCT fellowships focusing on complex hip and knee surgery in Oxford (NOC) and Stanmore (Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital). He was European Bone & Joint Infection Society (EBJIS) Travelling Fellow in 2017 and also completed a fellowship focusing on peri-prosthetic joint infection at the Rothman Institute (Philadelphia, USA). He is a member of the Bone and Joint Infection Registry (BAJIR) steering committee as well as the Executive Committee member for the 2025 International Consensus Meeting for Prosthetic Joint Infection. Abtin's clinical and research interests focus on peri-prosthetic joint infection and revision knee arthroplasty.

John Timmons
John Timmons is the Director of Medical Affairs for the Acute Portfolio and for Professional Affairs at Molnlycke Healthcare. John has been with Molnlycke for 6 years, prior to this he has had 3 other clinical roles in industry. John spent 20 years in the NHS with most of this spent as a Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist in Lanarkshire and Aberdeen. Following some time in Australia as a clinical academic, he moved into academia full time as a University Lecturer, teaching pre and post grad nursing at degree and masters level before working for Wounds UK as the Clinical Editor following which he joined industry full time.
