Jo is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon with specialist interests in sports knee surgery and complex lower limb trauma. She trained at Liverpool University Medical School and completed her surgical training in the Mersey region. She has also completed an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from the University of Cardiff. She works at the Liverpool University Hospitals, a large city centre teaching hospital, MTC and tertiary referral centre.
She is passionate about education and is an Honorary Lecturer with the University of Liverpool. She is a regular faculty member on national and international courses and is the Training Programme Director and Education Director for the Mersey Orthopaedic and Trauma Training Programme. Outside of work Jo loves most sports, enjoys being out in the fells and is an avid Newcastle United fan. She is the Chief Medical Officer for British Judo, travelling with the squad to competitions all over the World. She is looking forward to being part of Team GB for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, where Judo will be coming home.
