Rob Pollock

An experienced and highly regarded surgeon, Mr Rob Pollock specialises in knee and hip surgery and the management of bone and soft tissue tumours throughout the body. He sees patients privately at The Princess Grace Hospital, London and Elstree Waterfront Medical Centre, both part of HCA Healthcare UK.

After graduating from University College London with a first-class honours degree in Human Anatomy, Mr Pollock went on to train at UCL Medical School, St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington and on the North Thames Orthopaedic Registrar rotation. Following this, he was appointed as a consultant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) in 2004, where he held the position of Clinical Director of the Joint Reconstruction and Sarcoma Units from 2017 to 2021.

Mr Pollock has also undertaken several fellowships: Bone & Soft Tissue Tumours and Lower Limb Arthroplasty in Sydney Australia; AO Trauma Fellowship in Denver, Colorado; and a travelling fellowship that saw him visit Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Denver, San Antonio, Dallas, St Louis, Iowa, Memphis and Quebec

Lee Bayliss

Consultant Sarcoma and Reconstruction Surgeon, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital

Lee is a consultant sarcoma and reconstruction surgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, specialising in adult and paediatric musculoskeletal tumours. Having graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine, he underwent training in Oxford before completing a fellowship in bone and soft tissue sarcoma reconstruction at RNOH, Stanmore and was appointed as a Consultant there in 2019.

He is currently data and genomics lead for the London Sarcoma Service and has received awards from the Bone Cancer Research Trust, International Society of Orthopaedic Centres, University of Oxford and the British Orthopaedic Oncology Society (BOOS) for his work. He is a member of the BOOM consensus group and a current board member of BOOS.

Birender Kapoor

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust

Birender is a trauma and orthopaedic consultant at Liverpool University Hospitals. His practice includes primary lower limb arthroplasty, hip revision arthroplasty and trauma.

He is also a co-founder of Liverpool metastatic bone service and has been engaged in pushing for highest standards in delivery of metastatic care regionally and nationally.

He trained on the Merseyside rotation and followed it up with arthroplasty fellowship at Southampton. He was appointed as a consultant at Liverpool in 2013. He is an active BOOS member.

Alasdair Santini

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust

Alasdair Santini is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Liverpool University Hospitals FT where he specialises primary and revision knee arthroplasty, arthroscopic surgery to the knee and hip arthroplasty. He lives in Cheshire and is married with three sons. He was educated at The Edinburgh Academy and then at The University of Sheffield. He is a fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. His higher training in orthopaedics was on the Mersey Orthopaedic Rotation and involved a year at Wrightington Hospital and a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow sponsored travelling fellowship to visit Dr Leo Whiteside in St Louis, USA. He is the current Treasurer for BASK as well as the President of the Grosvenor Orthopaedic Club and Managing Partner of the Bone and Joint Centre. He is an honorary clinical lecturer at The University of Liverpool and has a number of peer reviewed publications. Alasdair Santini was a keen fencer, having been captain of The University of Sheffield team but currently keeps fit by skiing and coaching junior rugby. He is a lifetime ticket holder of seats at Murrayfield so he can follow Scotland’s rugby internationals.

Heledd Havard

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore

Hel is a Consultant Orthopaedic Sarcoma Surgeon practising at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. She is a member of the London Sarcoma Service and specialises in primary bone and soft tissue sarcomas, benign tumours and metastatic disease. Her focus is to provide a patient-centred approach incorporating shared decision making with specialist experience to achieve the best outcomes for her patients. She works closely with her oncology colleagues as well as other surgical specialties to ensure that her patients benefit from a full multidisciplinary team.
