Consultant Spinal Surgeon with interest in paediatric deformity at Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery. Clinical educator and supervisor to medical students. Current BSS education rep and member of the Spinal TIG committee. Previously a consultant at Sheffield Children's Hospital for four years where he was a pastoral tutor to medical students and Spinal Governance Lead.
Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Trust with interest in paediatric deformities and revision surgeries. Faculty for FRCS training courses, spinal education in UK and abroad. Secondary module lead for medical students and Tier one lead. Pastoral roles to medical students. Involved in Scoliosis charities in India and Nepal.
Mr Rohit Shetty is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon, with a special interest in complex spinal surgery. Mr. Shetty was appointed as Consultant spinal surgeon to the Whittington Hospital and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London in 2010. He now works full time at the Whittington Hospital in North London.
He graduated from India in 1995. He obtained his Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery, and was awarded the Gold Medal in Orthopaedic surgery.
He underwent Orthopaedic training in London from 2002. He completed a Diploma from the University of Brighton and was awarded Distinction in 2006. He passed his FRCS Intercollegiate T&O Board exams in 2007.
Rohit is fellowship trained in all aspects of spinal surgery. He completed spinal fellowships at Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham and a short term fellowship at Inselspital and Schulthess Swiss Olympic Medical Centre in Switzerland.
Mr. Shetty’s specialization includes the conservative and surgical management of adult degenerative neck and low back pain. His main sub specialty area of interest is Adult Reconstructive Deformity.
Shreya is fellowship trained spinal surgeon with a busy clinical practice in adult trauma, tumour, and paediatric deformity. She is one of few female surgeon members of BSS and has keen interest to be a surgeon educator. She is actively involved in training surgeons of the future and believes its important they see “someone like you” and is a strong advocate of mentorship. She works in an increasingly diverse surgical profession but wants to work towards a creating an equitable workplace inside and outside the operating room.
