Hayley Carter

Dr Hayley Carter is a Clinical Specialist 
Physiotherapist at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. She has recently completed her PhD exploring patient management following an Anterior Cruciate Ligament rupture, co-developing a theory- and evidence-based shared decision-making intervention. She is interested in ​interventional research targeting MSK and orthopaedic conditions and has expertise in complex intervention development, mixed methods research, implementation science theory and knowledge mobilisation. 

Daniel Scarffe

Advanced Clinical Practitioner, specialising in lower limb, Liverpool University Hopsital NHS Foundation Trust

Daniel works as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, specialising in lower limb assessment and rehabilitaiotn. He has over 14 years exeperience as a rehab therapist working and currently works at the NHS Universoty Hosptial of Liverpool. His speical interests include the management of Achilles tendon ruptures and rehabilitaitn following joint preservation procedures. 

Sam Yasen

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Yasen specialises in all aspects of knee surgery including ligament reconstruction, meniscal transplantation, realignment osteotomy and arthroplasty. Major interest in sports injuries and joint preservation. Published widely in the fields of ligament surgery and knee osteotomy.

He trained at King's College London, graduating with Triple Distinction in undergraduate medicine and a First-Class Honours for a BSc in physiology. He was awarded the Sir Walter Mercer Gold Medal in Trauma & Orthopaedics in 2014 and subsequently appointed as the BOA Young Ambassador. He was also awarded the McLeod Medal in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2015 and is a Member of the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine.

Mr Yasen holds additional degrees in Engineering (Masters - MSc - with distinction) from Cardiff University, and Teaching (Bristol University- PGCE - again with distinction). He has a national appointment as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has a broad experience of teaching from undergraduate level to international lecturing and presentations.

Mr Yasen additionally hosts a surgical visitation program in Basingstoke Hospital for surgeons interested in joint preservation.
