Mr. Sameer Singh qualified from Guys ad St Thomas Medical School and completed his Orthopaedic Training in London, Liverpool, New Zealand, and Australia. Clinical practice includes all aspects of upper Limb disorders and Trauma. He has been working as an expert witness since 2018 and completes 200 reports per year, Mr. Singh is keen to educate and mentor the future generation of expert witnesses in producing high-quality reports.

William Reynolds

Will is a partner at Browne Jacobson LLP. With over 15 years in the profession, he is an expert litigator and master tactician specialising in the defence of clinical negligence claims. In this role he leads a team of senior litigators and is a trusted advisor to various leading organisations in the field, including NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, and other private insurers and commercial organisations.

When it comes to his area of specialism, Will’s extensive experience covers the full spectrum of clinical negligence litigation covering numerous areas of medicine and law alike. He uses his experience, insight, and empathy to skilfully guide his clients to ensure the best outcomes are achieved. Will’s reputation in the field means he is regularly instructed on cases involving new and evolving issues of law of particular strategic importance.

Will also uses his understanding of the patient journey and empathy to deal with cases sensitively. He is a keen advocate for alternative approaches to claims resolution, and this has garnered him significant respect from leading claimant solicitors.

Outside of his case work, Will has a passion for helping clients and others learn, develop and grow. He is an accomplished speaker on the national and international stage, with a talent for distilling complex concepts down into easily accessible and engaging content. With this in mind, Will heads Browne Jacobson’s internal and external client-facing clinical negligence training programme and is a specialist in training on complex quantum and learning from harm, regularly delivering sessions focussed on these areas.

Will’s commitment to improvement and learning extends beyond the law around clinical negligence and into leading national healthcare improvement projects, such that he regularly contributes to national risk management initiatives for the NHS. This includes GIRFT and working with the BOA as a trusted medico-legal advisor.

Naomi Assame

Deputy Director of Safety and Learning, NHS Resolution

Naomi joined NHS Resolution in December 2019 and is the Deputy Director of Safety and Learning.

Having graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2000 with a BSc Hons in Human Movement Science and Physical Education she went on to qualify as a nurse in 2003. Naomi started her nursing career in General Surgery at St James’s University Hospital in Leeds where she later became a Surgical Nurse Practitioner based within the hospital’s Emergency Department.

Naomi qualified as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in 2011 and has worked in both General Surgery at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the King Street Walk-in-Centre in Wakefield.

Prior to joining NHS Resolution, Naomi was the Clinical Governance Lead for Local Care Direct, a community owned provider which delivered the Out of Hours GP service for West Yorkshire as well as three Urgent Treatment Centre’s, a Walk-in-Centre and Emergency Department Streaming.

Naomi has always had a passion for patient safety whether it be through development of the workforce, service improvement or extracting learning from patient safety events. Between 2012 and 2022, Naomi taught on the MBChB programme at Leeds University and played a key role in delivering the patient safety strand of the curriculum. Education and research remain Naomi’s special interests. Naomi is currently assisting Loughborough University with the delivery of the patient safety syllabus training and is undertaking a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Turab Arshad Syed

Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon, Medicolegal Expert Witness, Forth Valley Royal Hospital

Mr Turab Syed is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Scotland, with established private and medicolegal practices across Stirling, Manchester, and Harley Street, London. Fellowship-trained in lower limb arthroplasty, foot and ankle surgery, and complex diabetic foot reconstruction—with advanced international surgical fellowships in Strasbourg, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam—he combines high-volume clinical practice with extensive medicolegal expertise.

Active at the forefront of the medicolegal sector, Mr Syed serves on the British Orthopaedic Association Medico-Legal Committee, sits on the Council of The Academy of Experts, and serves as Honorary Treasurer of the Scottish Medico-Legal Society (SMLS). He is Cardiff University / Bond Solon (CUBS) and Aberdeen University / Bond Solon (AuBS) certified, regularly preparing independent expert reports and providing expert witness testimony across English, Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish, and Republic of Ireland jurisdictions.

Dedicated to surgical academia and clinical governance, he serves as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Glasgow Medical School and served as Academic Tutor and Examiner for the Master of Surgery (ChM) in Trauma & Orthopaedics at the University of Edinburgh from 2019 to 2025. A former Consultant at the Royal Free London and lecturer at UCL Medical School, he is a founding member of the UK Diabetic Foot Surgeons Forum and regular faculty on national cadaveric reconstruction workshops. He holds an MSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine and previously served as team doctor for elite sports organisations, including England C Football and ECCA.

Mr Syed maintains an active research portfolio as Principal Investigator on two randomised controlled trials and co-investigator on the multi-centre FAME trial. A recognized international speaker and recipient of academic and presentation accolades, he has authored dozens of peer-reviewed scientific publications and delivered over 90 podium and poster presentations across major forums, including the BOA Annual Congress, EFORT, SICOT, the Royal Society of Medicine, and Imperial College London.
