British Association of Day Surgery: RPRP (Right Patient, Right Procedure, Right Place, Right Team):  Returning to Basics

This session will explore how day surgery pathways within Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, both elective and acutely, can be utilised within the RPRP space, that is currently dominating our practices. 

Within the 90 minute session there will
be four presentations followed by panelist discussion. Each presentation will be 15 minutes.

Presentation 1: Right Patient: Selecting appropriate patients for day case surgery. Are there any absolute barriers? 

Presentation 2: Right procedure: what are we achieving? Could we achieve more? 

Presentation 3: Right Place: included in this will be a discussion surrounding appropriate usage of a “procedure room” in T&O. What is classed as a procedure room icw an orthopaedic theatre

Presentation 4: Right Team: Demonstrating what can be achieved when the team is entirely focused upon efficiency and throughout.
