BOA Session

Course Description: The BOA Clinical Examination Course has run for many years. The course is accessible to all levels of trainees from medical student to FRCS. It is not intended to be a substitute for a FRCS revision course but to provide good foundational skills of examination technique. It is taught by an experienced group of consultants who have a logical and consistent approach to clinical examination techniques. The format includes a morning of lectures covering all regions of the body, followed in the afternoon by a hands-on session where participants rotate in groups of similar skill level. In these tutorial groups there is a demonstration by an experienced consultant followed by practice in pairs of the techniques learnt and opportunities to ask questions.
