Sophie Heppenstall
Sophie is a Foundation Year 2 doctor in London with a strong interest in medical education and research. She currently serves as the President of the British Orthopaedic Medical Students Association (BOMSA) and represents BOMSA on the BOA Education and Careers Committee.

Raunak Khanduja
Raunak Khanduja is a final year medical student at Jesus College, University of Cambridge. Raunak is keen to pursue Orthopaedic specialist training and is currently the Access Officer for the Cambridge University Trauma and Orthopaedics Society (CUTOS). Through this role, he has carried out Orthopaedics-based teaching and set up mentorship programmes in 3 local state-funded schools in Cambridgeshire, in an aim to ensure greater diversity and representation in medicine.

Vasavi Tadikamalla
Final year medical student, University of Leicester
Vasavi is a final year medical student at the University of Leicester and holds an MRes in Health Sciences Research (Hons) from the University of Bristol. For the past three years, Vasavi has been involved with BOMSA, as a university representative in the inaugural BOMSA Midlands Committee (2021/22), and Regional Committees Lead (2022/23) and Mentorship and Diversity Lead (2023/24) on the BOMSA National Committee. Within her current role, she has established the first national orthopaedic mentorship scheme for medical students, engaging over 400 orthopaedic surgeons and medical students.
Her passion for Trauma and Orthopaedics is demonstrated through her involvement in organising both regional and national orthopaedic conferences and teaching sessions. Additionally, her MRes research project, titled "Gelatin Granular Hydrogels to Support Osteogenesis," underscores her deep interest in Orthopaedic science and research. Vasavi is passionate about advocating for inclusivity within the field and helping students overcome barriers to pursuing Orthopaedics as a viable career path.

Matt Bellamy
Matt is a Foundation Year 1 (FY1) SFP doctor with interests in orthopaedic research. He works both at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Sheffield Children’s Hospital as a ‘Junior Research Fellow’. With a passion for medical education and research, he sits on the national committees for BOMSA and BOSTAA. As the BOMSA Mentorship and Diversity lead for 2024-2025, he has been helping to build and expand the mentorship program, connecting a record number of students with orthopaedic mentors.

Colette Revadillo
Colette is a final year medical student at the University of Edinburgh with a strong and developing interest in paediatric orthopaedics. She was first introduced to the specialty during her fifth year of medical school and has been captivated by it ever since. She is the founder and current president of the Edinburgh University Paediatric Orthopaedics Society, which she established to promote interest in the specialty among medical students and to provide educational opportunities through teaching, research, and mentorship.

Hiro Tanaka
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Hiro Tanaka is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Newport, South Wales. He is passionate about improving the quality of surgical training and promoting clinical leadership in the NHS. He designed the BOFAS Principles Course on behalf of the Education Committee in 2010 and continues to be a member of the committee. He is Chairman of the Education and Revalidation Committee of the BOA and is an examiner for the FRCS (Orth).
