There is a maximum word count of 300 words for all abstracts.

It is recommended that abstracts are submitted in the following format for consistency.

  • Methods

  • Conclusion/Findings

Abstract Review and Selection

The review of abstracts will take place in May. Each abstract will be reviewed by a minimum of three medical professionals who are experts on the specific topic that corresponds to the content of the abstract. Once all abstracts are reviewed and scored, the highest ranking abstracts are selected to be included in the Congress programme in free paper sessions. Abstracts selected will either be presented as a podium or poster presentation during Congress 2020 in Birmingham.

Any abstracts submitted that have been published previously may not be selected.

Abstract Notification

Abstract authors will receive notification regarding their submission by the end of June 2020. Please be aware that notification will be to the email address of the presenting author. All presenting authors must register to attend Congress in order to present their abstract as a Podium or Poster presentation. There is no discounted registration rate for presenting authors.

Oral presentation

All podium authors will be given five minutes to present. Seven minutes will be allocated for discussion at the end of every 3rd presentation.

Poster presentation

Your poster must be A0 Portrait alignment (841mm wide x 1189mm), please DO NOT exceed this size.  Any Landscape posters will not fit and will not be eligible to be displayed.

A Guidance document will be sent to both podium and poster authors with full details.
