This course, offered in partnership with the Orthopaedic Academy, is tailored for candidates preparing for the part 2 FRCS (Orth) examinations or equivalent.

What: This is a 2-day accredited hand fixation workshop in combination with Medartis aimed at plastic and orthopaedic consultants and trainees who deal with hand fractures. (Please note that the course is followed by a 1-day wrist fixation workshop on 20 March). The faculty consist of national and international hand surgeons, with a high faculty to delegate ratio. The course will consist of a balanced mix of lectures, practical sessions (using saw bones) and discussion groups. Topics covered during the 2 days include: K-wires in fracture fixation Surgical approaches to the hand: metacarpal and phalanges Condylar fractures Locking plates Rolando fractures The course fee includes lunch, online course materials and an evening meal. The 2026 meeting will take place in the UK’s capital city on the 19th and 20th March. Delegates can look forward to sessions discussing the latest techniques in Congenital and Acquired Deformity, Complex Trauma, Paediatrics and Bone Infection with an emphasis on the latest scientific research and innovation.
