The daily orthopaedic trauma meeting is considered to serve a dual purpose; a way of discussing management of trauma patients and as a forum for teaching trainees. Zakir Haider (T&O registrar) and Alistair Hunter (T&O consultant) discuss their national research on 'Orthopaedic Trainees’ Perceptions of the Educational Value of Daily Trauma Meetings'. They explore positive perceived educational factors, negative factors impacting learning and provide recommendations on how to improve trainee education within the trauma meeting setting. This has relevance internationally for T&O Departments managing acute trauma, and within all surgical specialties conducting MDTs.
