Annual Congress 2025 - Liverpool
Thank you to everyone who attended the BOA Congress 2025! We would like to especially thank the speakers, sponsors, and all those who made it a success. We look forward to seeing you next year.
This year’s Presidential Guest Lecture was delivered by Professor Lars Engebretsen, a world-leading expert in sports medicine and Professor Emeritus of Orthopedic Surgery at Oslo University Clinic. His pioneering research in knee ligaments, cartilage, and injury prevention has earned him global recognition, including induction into the AOSSM Hall of Fame and honorary memberships with ESSKA, ISAKOS, and EFFORT.
Debra Searle, MVO, MBE, delivered the Howard Steel lecture. Debra is an accomplished entrepreneur, athlete, and motivational speaker. She has launched five companies, won Gold World Championship medals for Great Britain, presented over 40 BBC programmes, and became the youngest trustee of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Debra famously rowed solo across the Atlantic and was voted the World’s #1 Female Motivational Speaker by Global Gurus. She has also been recognised twice by Her Majesty The Queen—with an MBE in 2002 and an MVO in 2014.
While Andy Williams, MB BS, FRCS (Orth.), delivered the Robert Jones lecture. Andy is a world-leading sports knee surgeon, founder of Fortius Clinic London, and Reader at Imperial College London. With more than 150 peer-reviewed publications, he co-edited the 39th Edition of Gray’s Anatomy and holds the Hunterian Professorship. He sits on the Board of ISAKOS, is Second Vice-President of the ACL Study Group, and was named one of the UK’s Top 100 Doctors by The Times.
