7th National Orthopaedic and Plastics Conference for Student and Foundation Doctors, Sheffield which we run in sponsorship with the BOA, BOMSA, RCSEng, RCSGlasgow, Uniplex and MDU

"Diversity, Creation, and Innovation: Advancing Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery inspired by Women in Surgery (WinS)". We wish to explore multiple facets within the realm of orthopaedics and plastic surgery. Prof Lynda Wyld will discuss cutting-edge advances in reconstructive breast surgery. Ms Deepa Bose will give a lecture on diversity, inclusion and surviving in orthopaedics, from the perspective of a female surgeon and Ms. Swee Chai Ang will deliver a talk about her personal experience of war surgery in Palestine. We will also be hosting a special session on: Sports Exercise & Medicine and treating athletes by Dr. Anoop Raghavan who is a team doctor for York CIty FC. This will be followed by hands-on workshops run by surgeons, attendees can participate in: 1. Tendon repair by Ms Meg Birks, hand surgeon 2. Brainlab spinal navigation by Mr. Rav Jayasuriya, paediatric spinal surgeon 3. Ex-fix workshop by orthopaedic registrars. 4. Non-technical surgical skills by Mr. James Tomlinson. This year, inspired by WinS we have acquired female speakers leading the conference. Submit orthopaedic/plastic-themed abstracts. Deadline: Midnight 15th January 2025: https://tr.ee/KDNo8aJepQ
