The mission of the National Joint Registry is to collect and analyse high-quality and relevant data about joint replacement surgery to provide timely warnings of issues relating to patient safety. In a continuous drive to improve patient outcomes, we collect procedure data to monitor and report on surgical outcomes, as well as to enable and support orthopaedic research. The NJR is one of the most influential healthcare registries in the world, with a significant international profile. Our strategy is overseen by the NJR Board, designated as an NHS England ‘expert committee’, that reports through the NJR Chair into NHS England.
