The Extended Clinical Team - Trauma Session 2026

The Extended Clinical Team - Trauma Session 2026

The BOA recognises that most members of the MDT cannot attend its conference, and that many find it difficult to access high-quality continuing professional development. This is why we are hosting this free MDT study day, in association with the Fragility Fracture Network (FFN), Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) and the National Hip Fracture Database (NHFD). We would encourage hospitals to make the most of this opportunity of an 'away day' by sending a team of staff to represent their whole MDT; not just surgeons and geriatricians, but Emergency Dept. doctors and ENPs, anaesthetists, nurses, trauma co-ordinators, ANPs, ACPs, therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, operational service managers and others.

Collaborative care of frail and older trauma patients - Multidisciplinary Team study day

The whole-day session will use case studies to stimulate MDT debate, along with update lectures on key topics, a review of the newly published NHFD annual report on 2025, discussion of the BOA's current work on frailty, and GIRFT-NHFD work to extend the high-quality care offered to people with hip fracture to those with other injuries such as pelvic fractures.

In association with: Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) and the National Hip Fracture Database (NHFD)
