Versus Arthritis is now Arthritis UK – with two new reports
Versus Arthritis was formed in 2018 after the merger of charities Arthritis Research UK and Arthritis Care the previous year. In addition to being the world’s largest dedicated funder of arthritis research, Arthritis UK delivers information, education and support services for people with arthritis, trains frontline health and care professionals, and campaigns to shape better policy and drive change. The State of Musculoskeletal Health 2025 is Arthritis UK’s regularly updated resource setting out arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions in numbers. The report’s key findings, include:
- how many people have musculoskeletal conditions
- the number of people at risk of developing these conditions
- the impact of musculoskeletal conditions on people
- health systems and society
- the inequalities that can be found within all the topics above.

Left Waiting, Left Behind: The Reality of Living with Arthritis report sets out the reality of living with arthritis told through lived experiences and personal stories. It covers experiences of diagnosis, treatment, management and support, along with the personal and financial cost. The survey questions that respondents were asked and the data tables for the study can be viewed using the hyperlinks.
