Summary of Trainee PhD/MD Projects

The Centre is currently supporting 5 PhD/MD trainees working on various projects related to trials, as follows:

  • Helen Ingoe, Orthopaedic Research UK (ORUK) Fellowship - Surgical rib fracture fixation: systematic review of effectiveness, assessment of current UK practice, and development of a core outcome set
  • Jonathan Kent - Compression bandage for knee swelling following total knee arthroplasty
  • Nickil Agni - Single dose antibiotic loaded cement versus high dose dual antibiotic loaded cement in patients receiving hip arthroplasty after fracture: improving trial efficiency 
  • Ashley Scrimshire - Quality Improvement in Surgical Teams: evaluation of quality improvement collaborative intervention for preoperative treatment of mild anaemia
  • Sameera Abas - A systematic review and analysis of outcomes in patients with shoulder impingement
