Joint statement between BOA, Monitor and NHS England on National Tariff

The draft prices for 2016/17 were published by Monitor and NHS England to seek feedback from all stakeholders and were not meant to be the final prices. This feedback has formed the basis of ongoing discussions between Monitor and NHS England with the BOA about relative prices in orthopaedic services. Following this engagement the final prices will be published with the statutory consultation notice.

The BOA, Monitor and NHS England are committed to improving the whole process of tariff setting and delivery for orthopaedic services to ensure that similar problems are not encountered in the future. A thorough review of all the processes in delivering a tariff to inform future discussions has also commenced.
