New National Consultant Information Programme (NCIP) data release is now live
The latest data refresh of the National Consultant Information Programme (NCIP) is now live. The platform now contains data up to the end of March 2025, allowing you to review your own activity and outcomes for 105 Orthopaedic dashboards, including 36 Paediatric Orthopaedic procedures. You can use your NCIP consultant-level and provider-level data for governance meetings, clinical improvement, and as evidence for your appraisal.
In this release NCIP has also enhanced eight of the Orthopaedic dashboards:
- Primary cruciate ligament reconstruction | age 17+ | elective (HVLC)
- Revision cruciate ligament reconstruction | age 17+ | elective
- Femoral osteotomy | age 0-16
- Congenital hand surgery | age 0-16 | elective
- Miscellaneous limb reconstruction procedures | age 0-16
- Procedures for benign and malignant neoplasms of soft tissue | age 0-16 | elective
- Procedures for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) | age 0-16
- Tibial osteotomy | age 0-16
In response to user feedback, NCIP has reduced small-number suppression from six to four. This means that any consultant with at least one dashboard with six or more episodes in a three-year period can now also view dashboards with four or more episodes of any procedure – allowing you to access data for more procedures, sooner. The platform also now includes updated date selection periods with descriptive text.
