This important and timely conference will focus on improving care for hip fracture patients – learning from the September 2024 NHFD findings, and improving progress against the Key Performance Indicators and NICE quality standard for hip fracture. Through national updates and practical cases studies the conference will highlight best practice in hip fracture care, improving the care pathway, patient experience and outcomes. This conference will focus on improving assessment, minimised delays to theatre, improving the pathway from falls to theatre changing the role of the emergency department, ensuring hip fracture patients are prioritised for surgery, improve patient experience of hip fracture care, overcome contra indications, improving the anaesthetic and surgical pathway, and ensuring prompt mobilisation after surgery. There is a focus on improving practice against the Key Performance Indicators and using a Quality Improvement (QI) approach at each stage in the hip fracture pathway

We are delighted to announce that the 5th Birmingham Patellofemoral Masterclass returns with a fresh and exciting agenda. Traditionally the meeting runs every two years and is convened by Tarek Boutefnouchet and Tanweer Ashraf from The QE Hospital, Birmingham. If you are a knee surgeon, physiotherapist, extended scope practioner, trainee or fellow interested in patellofemoral conditions YOU DON’T NEED TO LOOK ANY FURTHER this meeting will give you everything you need to know about current practice and more. This meeting will focus on unravelling the multitude of options available and how to get it right first time as well as discussing the role of emerging technologies.

This conference will focus on developing your role as skills as a Prescribing Physiotherapist. Through national updates, expert sessions and practical case studies the conference will support you to develop or expand your role as a physiotherapy non medical prescriber, and support the development of effective non medical prescribing across your service.

BOA Annual Congress 2025

This one-day training session will equip delegates with the skills to manage and investigate different types off falls. The day will be case study led and delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions pertaining to their own area of practice. Different types of learning responses will be explored, such as PSII, AAR, Swarm Huddles and thematic reviews.
