About the award

This award recognises organisations and teams that have transformed the patient experience in planned orthopaedic care through pathway redesign, operational innovation and system working. We want to hear how you have improved access and flow, and how you have made the journey before, during and after surgery smoother for patients.

Who can apply

Multidisciplinary teams delivering NHS planned orthopaedic care in the UK. Teams may be based in any sector, provided the work relates directly to NHS patient care in the UK. Your team must include at least one current BOA member.

What can make an entry stand out

  • Development or optimisation of surgical hubs and elective care models
  • Improved flow, access and waiting times
  • Fewer cancellations and smoother patient journeys
  • A coordinated, well-supported experience before, during and after surgery
  • Evidence that the model can be sustained and shared with others

What you'll need to submit

Complete the structured application form, including a project summary of no more than 500 words. You may add supporting material if it directly backs up your application. [See How to apply for full details.]
